Q&A from shmeards
Hey, I remember you saying you have a standing desk setup. I'm considering one, myself, so I'm looking for ideas. Can you describe yours? How well has it worked for you? And did it cost a lot? Unrelated: thank you for nomarios, it is the greatest thing.

Hi there! So, this is my setup:

It is the cheapest standing desk ever. It is literally three tables stacked on top of one another. I would not recommend this method unless you’re really adaptable because there are a lot of problems with it (like the top table leg being in the way sometimes!)…
But I love it! I have lost a bit of weight that was put on just by sitting all day! I feel more energized to work! And it’s way better for my back. But you have to make sure to stretch and sit down from time to time. I have a bar stool, but it’s an uncomfortable stand-in for the drafting chair I’m going to invest in one of these days. You might also need something soft to stand on. Lots of people swear by yoga mats, but I haven’t tried one yet.
As for the desk itself, you can elevate your current one with sturdy boxes. Others use wall shelves, cupboards or storage racks! There are actual standing desks that you can buy, but they’re pretty expensive. Just measure the height you need your stuff to be at and you can go from there! On my desk, my Cintiq is about up to my chest and the top monitor is level with my face.
I’m nowhere near an expert on this, I’m still experimenting myself, but I hope that I am of some help to you! And thank you! :>
